Sister Anna Phuong leads a network of volunteers in Vietnam who coordinate with teachers and parents to identify and select students with a rigorous application process.
Our focus is in rural areas of Vietnam where we can have the most impact to provide opportunities for education.
Once the students are identified and recommended by a teacher, each student fills out a comprehensive application. The application includes student academic standing, family's economic condition, the student's desire for education and his/her plan for future education.
A recommendation letter from the teacher is a requirement to submit along with the application.
Sister Anna Phuong evaluates each application and sends a volunteer to visit the family if necessary.
If the student meets all pre-determined criteria, the application is approved and sent to the US Team for final approval and funding. Rev. Quoc Nguyen reviews each application and makes final decision for funding.
The fund for each student is $100 and is funded partially per quarter.
The progress of each student is monitored quarterly by Sister Anna Phuong's Team and the appropriate funds are allocated accordingly. "..... My brother and I currently live with our grandmother. My father is seeking daily work in a big city to support our family. Just recently, he was too sick to work. Despite our grandma’s old age, she is working on the farm to support us both. We hug each other with tears when we receive your support. Many thanks to you who have brought us some hope in our lives....."
